Month Five: Shabby/Vintage Photo/Color Challenge

Welcome to the fifth month here at House of Cards!  We love seeing you push your limits and trying out new card making styles!  We hope you're loving it as much as we are!

It's the first week of the month, so we need you to create something in the Shabby & Vintage style. These cards can utilize many kinds of embellishments such as lace, ribbon, doilies, flowers, pearls, rhinestones, metal, etc. and are usually made using vintage and/or steampunk images.  Distressing, art journaling techniques, and collage stamping are very common in this type of card making. 

And please combine the Shabby/Vintage style with this~

We want you to be inspired by the photo, the colors, or both!  If you go with the colors, please choose at least 3.  Let your imagination take flight!  Some of us are in autumn, some in spring, so we tried to find a combo that would work for both seasons.  And perhaps even holiday cards?!

Winner, Month 5 CAS Photo/Color Challenge

 These cards use minimal or NO embellishment.  There should be lots of "white space" present on your card--open space with no stamping or anything else.  One layer cards are usually considered CAS as long as they are not covered in stamping.

Month Five: Classic & Elegant Photo/Color Challenge

Welcome to the fifth month here at House of Cards!  We love seeing you push your limits and trying out new card making styles!  We hope you're loving it as much as we are!

It's the third week of the month, so we need you to create something in the Classic & Elegant style.  Think a greeting card from Hallmark.  These are not really cards that fit into any other category.  They usually feature floral or other classic elements.  Less embellishments than Shabby & Vintage or Fun & Cute, but more than CAS.  These cards also utilize clean lines and classic elements--distressing is not usually a part of the Classic & Elegant style.

And please combine the Classic & Elegant style with this~
