Month Four: Shabby & Vintage

Hello friends and WELCOME home to House of Cards!  This challenge idea was the brain child of co-owner Mynnette--she wanted to have a reason to practice different card making styles and so the purpose of this challenge is to encourage YOU to branch out and try different card making styles along with her and the fabulous DT we've got here!  We hope that you will learn a lot and that you will participate with us each week here and practice your card making talents.  :)

Not sure what we're looking for and want some clarification on what constitutes each style we feature here at HOC?  Help is at hand with our useful Definitions of Styles tab. 

Shabby/Vintage cards can utilize many kinds of embellishments such as lace, ribbon, doilies, flowers, pearls, rhinestones, metal, etc. and are usually made using vintage and/or steampunk images.  Distressing, art journaling techniques, and collage stamping are very common in this type of card making.

Now, onto our October challenge!  This month we will be working with this wonderful sketch layout.  Feel free to rotate the sketch and/or use different shapes - as long as the original sketch comes through to us, it's all good!
